Anno Domini Designs
Anno Domini (An-no Dom-in-eye) is medieval Latin meaning “In The Year Of Our Lord”.

The idea was conceived sometime in 2008 and born on an unforgettable road trip to Chicago in July of that year by Emily Kramer and Amanda Gaskins. It grew up in a peaceful loving home, creating and learning until sometime in 2009 when it exploded into this amazing company of passionate artisans. We’re taking fashion, art, & photography to a new level!
We consider ourselves to be “World Friendly.” We love the earth! We love our planet and it’s people. We believe in taking care of everything in our earth the best ways we can.
We’re using organic cotton and natural fabrics like Silk, linen, cotton, wool – not only do these fabrics allow your skin to breathe, they are sustainable, recyclable, and natural. We use them as much as possible, period. We’re paying all people involved a fair wage for their labor no matter where on earth they live, what air they breathe, or what side of town they are from.
We are as ecologically responsible as possible. Besides recycling as much as we can, we strive to use eco friendly inks, dyes, fabric processing methods, and sustainable materials. I still use an old wooden ruler from 1977. We love our planet, and it’s people. We believe in showing it. We believe that showing it means wearing it too.
Amber Johnson

Amber G. Johnson began sewing and illustrating at a young age, she completed her first seam on her Mother’s antique Singer and spent hours looking through her Father’s old sketch books. Before she entered school, she knew that the arts would always be a part of her life.
Connecting her love of illustration and sewing abilities to create her own art became a reality at The Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago, Illinois. While studying, she was selected to participate in multiple fashion shows and events, including her participation in Chicago Fashion Week and the Dreihaus Award in Fashion Excellence scholarship show. Towards the end of her schooling, she worked for both Maria Pinto and Kate Boggiano in their production rooms.
Amber’s inspiration comes from natural textures and patterns, her designs are just as much about the textures as they are about silhouettes or colors. Each design is crafted using natural, recycled or re-purposed fabrics, she is not only passionate about the design, but also the sustainability and integrity of the garments.
