Emotional RollerCoaster

and then today happened. i received a text/pic from him that, apparently, he sent to all four of us. who knew they existed? not together but together enough to know that 'others' should be discussed. and, we called ourselves being transparent. death.

and then today happened. i had a great time at sigma theta lambda's inc. book club meeting. we shared everything. and, it was good. we discussed my book, their projects and moving forward. not sisters but sisterly enough to know that they are officially in my web. birth.

Coco && Breezy are 20year old twin designers known for their eye wear and accessories. One of the reasons why they created this eye wear was due to the fact they were bullied at a young age and their shades was a way to block themselves from the world. This PSA is a campaign bringing awareness to people "blind to the future of fashion and being original." The fusion of cultures, music and people in this campaign are promoting to others around the world that it is not okay to be bullied because one is different and it is letting unique individuals know that it is okay to have their own sense of style.

In hopes of inspiring and healing, each monologue will speak, inform, purge and yell many ‘skeletons’ that keep communities stagnant and broken. Far from being ‘dark,’ this event, via music, theatrics, subtle humor and outright seriousness, pinpoints the connective experiences that bind us all. Delivered by ‘newbies’ on the mic as well as individuals tagged with national slam experience and rated amongst the Top 20 poets in the world, ‘The MAD Mic,’ will keep you entertained, intrigued and, inevitably, ‘make a difference (MAD).’

The Love Letter

i wanted to send him a love letter but was certain he wouldn't comprehend what was handwritten just for him. besides, he was caught up lusting after my things and wasn't capable of venturing into love's land--it was foreign. love, that is. sure that i could show him the way, i opened my heart and poured all of my hip hop, my reggaeton, my blues, my soul into endless bars that were, ultimately, barred from being read. he wasn't ready for anything serious and i wasn't ready for rejection, so, i kept my kinky thoughts and lukewarm lullabies tucked inside for the right moment. it never came and neither did i, nor we, not us. not that i was against being against his skin but i really wanted to spend the night in his mind but he wasn't ready for anything serious. seriously, i wanted to make him the one but with all the other female emcees eager to rock his mic, i checked myself out of his waiting room and vowed to be happy with my solo deal. this love letter, my love letter will wait on that perfect duet, my perfect partner.....
